OPAL

(Outdoor Play and Learning)

At Fir Tree, we are proud to be developing OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) to make playtimes even more exciting, engaging and enjoyable for all children.

OPAL is based on the belief that children learn important life skills through play. By providing a wider range of outdoor opportunities, we can support children's creativity, confidence, resilience, teamwork and wellbeing.

As part of our OPAL journey, we are enhancing our outdoor environment with new resources and play experiences, giving children more opportunities to explore, imagine, create and work together.

Through OPAL, we aim to:

  • Improve children's wellbeing and happiness
  • Encourage creativity and problem-solving
  • Develop social skills and friendships
  • Promote active, healthy play
  • Build confidence and independence

Keeping You Updated

We are excited to share our OPAL journey with our families. This webpage will be updated regularly, with termly newsletters added throughout the year to keep you informed of our progress, developments and successes.

Thank you for supporting us as we create even more opportunities for our children to play, learn and thrive outdoors.
